We made it home late on Friday, after the longest day ever! The first thing we did was eat a bunch of caesar salad! (We were warned not to eat fresh vegetables in India, so we wanted nothing more than some lettuce).

India was amazing, but it is nice to be home! I just have one last picture to post to this blog, from the Delhi airport.

Now it's time for this blog to go dormant again, until my next adventure!

Ok, it was actually two days, but to us it has felt like one. Yesterday we woke up in Trivandrum and drove to visit a pretty cool palace (Padmanabhapuram Palace). I didn't take any pictures, but other people did so I'll have to get copies from them.

Then that night we went to the airport for our three hour flight back to Delhi. Since this day was unplanned, we didn't know what to do. Until we contacted our driver Harpreet from the first few days of the trip and he came to the rescue! Sadly he couldn't tour us around himself, but he ordered a car for us and got his son to act as our tour guide. We visited so many things. I don't remember the names of everything so I'll have to look them up later, but I'll post some pictures.

Humayun's Tomb Complex

Agrasen ki Baoli - a step well

Red Fort and various buildings inside

Lodi Gardens and monuments

We also visited the National Museum and saw lots of interesting artifacts.

Now we're on our way to the Airport, exhausted from our busy day and not sleeping last night on the plane. I guess we'll try to sleep on our incredibly long flights. We're leaving India on the 24th and we're arriving in Ottawa on the 24th. It's going to be the longest day of our lives!

Maybe I'll write an update post along the way!

We started off the day by going to a beach, unfortunately the water was too rough to swim, but we waded and got to splash around a bit.

Then, the most exciting part of our day happened when we got to meet Umadevi the elephant! At first we were taking pictures with her, and she was touching us with her trunk. She wrapped her trunk around my hand once and pulled me closer. Then a few of us got a chance to climb up onto her back and go for a bit of a ride! Climbing up was kind of hard, but she held up one of her legs for us to step on. Afterwards we helped feed her some treats and a rice mixture of some sort, and we watched her step on coconuts to break them apart before eating them. It was amazing!

We went to another beach afterwards, and then had dinner at a mall and did some snack shopping before heading back to our airbnb.
