About Me
Hello!

My name is Julie, and I love getting to explore new places. I live in Ottawa, Canada, but I was very lucky to grow up in Germany and travel around Europe as a kid. As we travelled, my family often camped out instead of staying in hotels. We once camped beside Loch Ness (no monster sightings, sadly)!

I studied Ancient Civilizations in University, and I started my first travel blog in 2013 when a friend and I took a month-long archaeology course in Italy. When I decided to start a new blog, I knew I wanted to include writing about another form of adventure - camping. I have loved camping since I was a kid, and I started working at a camp when I was sixteen.

Passport and Compass is a place for me to talk about two kinds of adventures, both of which I learned to love from my parents when we lived in Germany.

As well as writing this blog, I write fiction novels! Check out my website for more information!
